Joan Brown used to be very active, now she can't leave her home.

A Glasgow mum says she's suffering agonising hip and knee pain and has waited more than five years for surgery.

I have gone from being a very active woman to one who can't even leave her own home. I put my trust in the system but it has let me down. I don't know why I have been made to wait so long.

A consultant saw Joan in December 2021 and confirmed the requirement for surgery on both hips and her knee. But he was unable to say when any operation might take place and Joan is still waiting on a date. Joan also needs help each day with dressing, washing and cooking of meals. She previously had an active lifestyle, looking after her four grandchildren and taking them to and from school each day.
