Glasgow is the only Scottish city to make it into the annual list of the 100 best cities in the world for 2023, compiled by consultancy firm Resonance, coming in at number 92.
The city was named 92nd on the list and the only Scottish location to make the cut in the annual worldsbestcities.com ranking. London was placed at the top of the list, cinching the number one spot, followed by Paris and New York City.
The ranking describes Glasgow as a city with "working-class values" that has risen high due to its "success in bringing everyone along for the ride as its reputation grows". "And it’s growing, as tech start-ups hungry for cheap space and talent willing to bet on changing the world are moving in from pricier European cities like Dublin and Amsterdam. What they find is brilliant homegrown talent that makes Glasgow the sixth-most-educated city on the planet.
"It counts economist Adam Smith and U.S. founding father James Wilson as alumni, and it ranks #40 globally."
