According to the Scottish Government, the deal would mean NHS workers in Scotland would remain the best paid in the UK.
Nurses in Glasgow and across Scotland are set to be balloted over a new pay offer from the Scottish Government, their union has announced.
Earlier this month, RCN members were balloted for the first time in 106 years after the Scottish Government offered a flat rate of £2,205 per person, which was rejected by the majority of nurses. Strike action was set to take place before the end of this year, but this has been halted while this new offer is balloted.
"Governments across the UK need to demonstrate that nursing staff are valued. That's why we have been campaigning for an inflation plus five per cent pay increase. It comes after he said the Scottish Government has "engaged tirelessly with trade union representatives over recent weeks, leaving no stone unturned to reach an offer which responds to the key concerns of staff across the service".
