Residents across Glasgow have hit out at an alleged lack of gritting in some areas.

said gritting is carried out on priority roads, pavements and cycle lanes as part of the council's Winter Maintenance Plan.

The council spokesperson said:"We have been gritting the city’s footways, cycleways and carriageways in accordance with our winter plan. "When there are sustained periods of cold weather we will also grit along secondary routes within neighbourhoods. "There are over 1500 grit bins around the city for people to use and help their communities deal with the challenge of winter weather.
