The popular global chain, located on Buchanan Street, has been shut 'with immediate effect' today, February 27. Unite the Union is supporting those who have been impacted.

The popular global chain, located on Buchanan Street, has posted on its website that the restaurant 'will not be operating today'. A sign on the menu outside the iconic building also tells customers the eatery will be shut.

Unite Hospitality shared a post on social media platforms to confirm it will be supporting workers following the shock closure of the venue.READ MORE: Police descend outside Glasgow supermarket after reports of concern for two people"We are currently supporting workers affected.The large iron gates are currently closed across the entrance to the rock 'n' roll themed eatery. A note has also been taped to the door, it reads: "Hard Rock Cafe Glasgow will not be operating today.

Lead organiser of Unite Hospitality, Bryan Simpson, said: "The way in which workers at Hard Rock Cafe in Glasgow have been treated is morally reprehensible and almost certainly unlawful. "For so many workers to be given so little notice is outrageous and a clear breach of well established employment law.

"We will be doing everything in our power to support our members at Hard Rock to ensure they are paid everything they are entitled to.”
