A centre which has been at the heart of an east-end community for decades has announced it will have to close with "heartfelt and deepest regret" after a recent drop in funding.
Posting on Facebook, the centre team wrote: "It is with heartfelt and deepest regret that we have to inform you that the Neighbour Centre are having to close due to a recent drop in funding."They then confirmed the date of the closure will be from March 31 before adding that the hope to reopen at some point in the future.
She asked people to keep following their journey and supporting them and that hopefully, they would reopen as soon as they can. One wrote: "Unbelievable these community facilities are being allowed to close due to the lack of investment and funding support they are an integral part of the community from tots to pensioners serving all groups so so sad this is happening."
