As we reported in May, the site of the Merrylee Road pub could soon be developed into 21 new flats and a convenience store, with Glasgow City Council still considering the application.
Residents in the south side of Glasgow have been left surprised to see a pub boarded up over the weekend amid plans to convert the site into new flats.
The Merrylee Road site might be better known to some as Napoleons, which traded there before reopening under the name of Rare Bird and subsequently White Elephant. “The convenience store will bolster the local economy, complimenting the existing retail offering in the city whilst enabling residents to meet their day-to-day shopping needs.”
