All Glasgow Subway services will be suspended throughout the peak of Storm Eowyn on Friday, January 24th, due to a rare 'danger to life' red weather warning issued by the Met Office. Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) has implemented the suspension to ensure passenger and staff safety, with services expected to resume by 6pm. SPT's bus stations will remain open, but local and My Bus services are also suspended. Scotrail, First Bus, and McGill's have also cancelled services during the storm.
Strathclyde Partnership for Transport has confirmed that no Subway services will run tomorrow morning until at least 6pm on Friday, January 24, due to the storm.
Local SPT subsidised services are suspended from 9am until 6pm and all My Bus services are suspended for tomorrow. SPT Chief Executive, Valerie Davidson, said: “The decision to not open the Subway has not been taken lightly but recognising the severity of the extremely rare red weather warning, we must do all we can to ensure the safety of passengers and importantly of our own staff.
