Passengers were forced to walk through the dark underground tunnels in Glasgow after a subway train broke down.

Ben Kavanagh evacuated the train with his wife Donna and their two daughters Emma, 12, and Arya, 9, aftera tannoy ordered passengers to get out, reports the Record.The dad, from Wishaw, slammed SPT after he was left to calm his two panicked children and lead his family along the tracks in the pitch black."We all sat in the carriage for the best part of an hour. People began to get very distressed.

"We were left to walk in the dark down the tracks in single file. It was really unsafe. There were hooks hanging off the wall and gaps in the tracks that anyone could have tripped on. An SPT spokesperson said: “The Subway Outer Circle was suspended on Saturday due to a broken-down train and passengers were de-trained, as is normal practice if breakdown is mid-tunnel, to the next station.
