A teenager who fractured another boy's skull after knocking him unconscious avoided jail today.
The now 20-year-old lashed out amid a dispute that the victim had spoken about a friend of his.Bright - a first offender - pleaded guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to the assault to the boy's severe injury.
Sheriff Daniel Kelly ordered Bright, of the city’s Battlefield, to do 225 hours of unpaid work and put him under suspension for two years.Prosecutor Mark Allan said:"At about 22.50 Bright and the victim began to argue seemingly because he thought the boy was talking about a friend of his."On reaching the pavement, Bright punched the victim to his face which caused him to fall to the ground and was rendered unconscious.
