Glasgow University's Gilbert Scott Building has been ranked among the 'most beautiful' universities in Europe.
The recent study by The Knowledge Academy set out to determine how close university buildings across Europe align with the golden ratio, and therefore which universities are the most beautiful, according to science. The golden ratio is a mathematical ratio, and it is theorised that buildings, faces or artworks closest to this ratio are the most well balanced and aesthetically pleasing.Being selected within the top 10, our stunning university sits at 9th place with another Scots university also being named. The University of St. Andrews makes it the first university in Scotland mentioned on the list ahead of Glasgow making our country the only place to feature two stunning buildings in the top 10.
Other universities mentioned in the European ranking include the Paris-Sorbonne University located in Paris. which sits in fourth place. The University of Oxford in England was also listed coming in third place with Romania's University of Bucharest taking the top spot.
