Ross Allan, clinical director at the Roundhouse hospital, said:"We’ve been overwhelmed by the kindness of locals and clients who have donated very generously. It’s been such a success that the food bank has overflowed with donations several times. "Having a foodbank at their hospital gives easy access to those pet owners who might be struggling. It is so important to work collectively for animal welfare to keep people and their pets together.
"Through our animal helpline and inspectors, the Scottish SPCA has a unique insight into the impact of the cost-of-living crisis on people and their pets. Last year, a quarter of a million people called our helpline and calls to relinquish animals trebled.
