Almost a thousand people descended upon the city centre to pay their respects.

Hundreds of Glaswegians gathered in George Square last night, braving the rain for a candlelight vigil in honour of transgender teen Brianna Ghey.

She was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Officers investigating the incident have since arrested two 15-year-olds, one boy and one girl, on suspicion of murder.Almost a thousand people descended upon the city centre to pay their respects, with lots of people wearing pride flags as well as holding a minute silence, reports the Daily Record.

"We want to provide comfort to a grieving family but we also want other trans kids and their families to know that they aren't hated, there are so many people on their side that want them to live freely and not be afraid."
