Reusable water bottles at the ready.
revellers – the festival is going single-use free.
Answering the call of Mother Nature that is, you know, dying because of our use of plastic, the famous event has decided to rid its muddy fields of the product come June when it returns for another round at Worthy Farm., Glasto bosses have decided that both staff and revellers will have to provide their own reusable bottles in order to make use of taps with water ‘of the same quality as your taps at home’.
It comes after the statement claimed in 2017 almost 45 tonnes of aluminium cans were recycled from the festival, which they expect to rise this year. Festival boss Emily Eavis said of the green move: ‘It’s paramount for our planet that we all reduce our plastic consumption, and I’m thrilled that, together, we’ll be able to prevent over a million single-use plastic bottles from being used at this year’s Festival.
‘I really hope that everyone – from ticket-holder to headliner – will leave Worthy Farm this year knowing that even small, everyday changes can make a real difference. It’s now or never.’
