Rumours earlier this week suggested Madonna, Dua Lipa and Coldplay were due to headline next year's festival
Glastonbury's Emily Eavis has put to bed rumours of the festival's 2024 line-up and confirmed headliners will be announced in the new year.
British band Coldplay was also said to be performing on the Saturday. However, Ms Eavis wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, this morning, Sunday, November 5: "As always, there is much speculation and excitement about who is playing next year at GlastonburyREAD MORE: Man tried to snatch phone back from police before they found sick images of children on it
Ms Eavis confirmed last month that a legendary US star's team got in touch to confirm they were available. Ms Eavis said: "2024 is still a little up in the air, and I thought it was taking shape, then last week I just got a call, and this is what happens if you wait a little longer, because often we’ll be booked up from July.
Addressing criticism over the festival's lack of women headliners, Ms Eavis told Annie MacManus and Nick Grimshaw on their podcast Sidetracked: "I’ve always been really passionate about gender split and I think, actually, our problem was that I’d been so outspoken about it that having a year when there wasn’t a female sent people a bit mad – or some people.
