Glastonbury organiser Emily Eavis has issued a response after it was announced that next year’s festival ticket will cost £340.
‘We have tried very hard to minimise the increase in price on the ticket but we’re facing enormous rises in the costs of running this vast show, whilst still recovering from the huge financial impact of two years without a festival because of COVID.’
She continued: ‘The £50 deposit on ticket sales day in November will be the same as ever, with the balance not due until April. And, as always, there will be opportunities for many thousands of people to come as volunteers or part of the crew.‘In these incredibly challenging times, we want to continue to bring you the best show in the world and provide our charities with funds which are more vital than ever. We are always, hugely appreciative, of your ongoing support.
Fans took to Twitter to vent their frustration over the drastic increase, with one writing: ‘Glastonbury tickets are £340 each? Might have to start selling my body.’However, others claimed that the new price for five-day festival is still a ‘bargain.’ I know everything’s more expensive these days, but Glastonbury offering tickets for £340 feels mad in the current climate.
It’s the best festival in the world…. They can charge what they want… But ordinary people will be priced out£340 for Glastonbury tickets! Thatâs a £90 increase, it better be Eminem, Fleetwood Mac and Arctic Monkeys now.Absolutely gutted at the Glastonbury ticket prices ð literally cannot afford by April what a joke, wanted to try and get tickets so bad
