Ex-England player and manager Glen Hoddle Glenn Hoddle believes Chelsea would be ‘in a better state’ if new England boss Thomas Tuchel was still in charge at Stamford Bridge. Tuchel took over at Chelsea in January 2021, replacing club legend Frank Lampard, and went on to enjoy a largely successful if turbulent 20-month spell in west London.
Current Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca ‘He should still be there now and they would be in a better state. I think Chelsea are back by the way, I think they’ve got a good chance of getting themselves back there. ‘But they went missing for a while there. If he would have stayed…’ Returning to the topic of German coach Tuchel taking charge of England, Hoddle added: ‘I’m happy on the football front, I’m delighted.
