Globe to complete its network upgrade in 2021
Globe Telecom Inc. has launched its largest network upgrade which hinges on a 3-pronged strategy – accelerated cell site builds, upgrade of all sites to 4G/LTE using different frequencies and fast-tracking fiber connection in homes, and will be completed next year. “We are in a much better position now to fulfill the demands of customers,” noted Globe president and CEO Ernest Cu.
The faster processing and release of various national and LGU permits are of big help in this initiative.With 4G everywhere, the whole country will be data-ready and capable to meet increasing demands of customers for bandwidth and faster speeds. For 2020, the company committed to spend P50.3 billion in capex, majority of which will be spent on its network upgrade initiatives.
