GMA Network, thru GMA Regional TV (RTV), continues to bring local news that matters to every Filipino as it launches its 12th regional station in the Philippines with GMA Ilocos Norte this March 17, 2023.
Set to further strengthen the Network’s presence in Northern Luzon, GMA Ilocos Norte can be accessed by viewers via GMA TV 5 on free TV, GMA Affordabox, and GMA Now. It is GMA Network’s fifth regional station in Luzon after GMA Dagupan, GMA Ilocos Sur, GMA Bicol, and GMA Batangas.
“With the launch of GMA Ilocos Norte Station as one of the key hubs of GMA Regional TV, this strengthens our local news coverage in North Central Luzon, and solidifies GMA Integrated News’ position as the ‘News Authority of the Filipino.
As part of the activities for the station launch, Kapusong Ilocanos will be treated to a fun-filled Kapuso Mall Show in Robinsons Ilocos at 4 PM later that day featuring Sparkle artists and 'TikToClock' hosts Rabiya Mateo and Jayson Gainza. Joining them are 'All-Out Sunday’s Hannah Precillas and Garrett Bolden. Hosting the Kapuso Mall Show is GMA Synergy’s ‘Game On!’ host Martin Javier.
In 2022, GMA Network continued its dominance in key regional cities. Data from Metro Cities TV Audience Measurement cited that GMA reached 99 percent or an estimated 344,000 viewers in Metro Dagupan; 93 percent in Metro Cebu; and 96 percent in Metro Davao for full year 2022.Moreover, GMA RTV introduced its newscast 'GMA Regional TV One North Central Luzon,’ in September last year.
GMA Regional TV remains steadfast in the Network’s mission of enriching the lives of Filipinos everywhere with the responsible delivery of news and information in various communities across the Philippines. It was recently conferred its sixth Regional TV Network of the Year award at the 2023 Platinum Stallion National Media Awards.
