EXCLUSIVE: Good Morning Britain's Ranvir Singh has opened up about her new romance with Louis Church and how her co-star Kate Garraway has been supporting her through it
Morning telly favourite Ranvir Singh has kept her private life under wraps for years but recently shared how she became a single mum during her pregnancy after parting ways from her ex-husband, Ranjeet Singh Dehal.
The pair share their now 12 year old son Tushaan and Ranvir is in a new relationship. But she puts her success - both professionally and personally - down to enjoying an incredibly supportive team at Good Morning Britain - including Kate Garraway. Ranvir struck up a romance with Louis Church, a TV production manager, since 2020 and opened up to OK! about the journey towards introducing him to the special dynamic between herself and her son. "I think anybody who's been in the position I've been in plays it very cautiously," she said. "It really isn't just about you and your feelings. We can throw caution to the wind for ourselves, but when we have children, our foot is always hovering over the brake pad because you think, 'Hang on a minute, this isn't just about me.' "It's not just about the relationship itself, but even thinking, 'Have I got the time to introduce somebody? I don't want to dilute my time with my son.' All those anxieties are really universal. Caution is the byword for anybody in my position. I think you take a lot longer to choose to integrate. It's a much, much bigger and weightier decision than when it's just you, for sure." The bond between Ranvir and Kate, who lost her husband Derek Draper a year ago after a long battle with long Covid, is mutual. After Kate announced Derek's death on January 3 last year, Ranvir posted an incredibly heartfelt message to her socials alongside a photograph from Kate and Derek's wedding day 20-odd years earlier. Ranvir wrote: "What a big colourful life you had. But being a brilliant parent to Billy and Darcy was your true passion. Together you made a nation understand what deepest love looks and feels like." In her latest chat with OK!, Ranvir also revealed how her friendship with Kate has helped her build her incredible career while also raising Tushaan. "I feel very proud of myself for managing everything for the last 12 years, but I haven't done it alone. I've done it with the support of my editors and colleagues like Kate and Susanna," she shared. "GMB is such a family-orientated place – there's a real depth of care there. I've been incredibly lucky to be in a place where your family, your home life and your work life are allowed to happen in tandem."
