Disgraced GMP officer who had secret sexual relationship with alleged rape victim sacked
A former police officer who was jailed after he formed a secret sexual relationship with an alleged rape victim, even attempting to thwart a raid on her home to prevent his dirty secret from being uncovered, has been sacked.
At the misconduct hearing, Chief Constable Watson determined Rose should be dismissed without notice for his actions, which had undermined the public trust in GMP. He said Rose had sent a letter which apologised to GMP, his colleagues, and the public "for any embarrassment or upset that may have been caused".
The case did not proceed past the report. Their relationship lasted for several years and was hidden from his colleagues until October 2019 when her name came under the spotlight in respect of a lawful execution of a search warrant at her home.
