Christopher Lawrence 'Bong' Go reiterated the need to pass Senate Bill 205 or the proposed Department of Disaster Resilience Act.The senator said SB 205 aims to create a highly specialized agency tasked with ensuring disaster-resilient and safe communities.Go pushed for the passage of the DDR bill in the 19th Congress as his team provided aid to 821 victims of Typhoon 'Ulysses' in Marikina City.

'We really need to scale up our preparedness to resiliency against disasters,' he said, noting that the country is prone to typhoons, earthquakes and other calamities.Go's team held the outreach activity at the Marikina Convention Center where they distributed meals and masks.They gave away bicycles, phablets and new pairs of shoes to selected individuals.
