Wave of consolidation tipped as equity drought starts to show in junior space
Australia's exploration sector is at a crossroads, according to the latest review of ASX balance sheets from consultancy BDO, which is tipping a wave of consolidation in 2025 as companies navigate rising costs and declining commodity prices.
5 million per company is still strong by historical standards.The number of companies raising more than $10 million in debt and equity, BDO's "fund finders", dropped markedly, from 47 in the June quarter to just 28 – the lowest level since the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic.Interest in gold, lithium and uranium remains strong.
