Jerry Kiernan passed away aged 67 in January 2021
Ciara Mageean fought back the tears as she remembered her late coach Jerry Kiernan in the aftermath of her sensational European gold. The Portaferry athlete said her 1500m success in Italy felt like a "full circle" moment.
And as the dust settled, she reflected on her victory and took time to remember her late coach and former long distance runner Kiernan, who passed away aged 67 in January 2021.
