GoldenGlobes2023 winners list in full as Elvis star Austin Butler and Zendaya triumph
Following last year’s televised hiatus, the Golden Globes returned in full swing with the likes of Margot Robbie, Jenna Ortega, Colin Farrell and Eddie Murphy all rocking up to the star-studded affair.
The 2021 awards ceremony was turned into a “private event” in the wake of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association ’s lack of diversity, sparking controversy among stars as many decided to boycott the awards. Addressing the backlash the HFPA was facing, this year’s host Jerrod Carmichael said: “This show, the Golden Globe Awards did not air last year, because the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which I won’t say they were a racist organisation, but they didn’t have a single black member until George Floyd died – do with that information what you will.
Some of this year’s winners were expected – such as Zendaya grabbing yet another prestigious award for her portrayal of Rue in Euphoria – but some newcomers also hit gold, with Austin Butler proving victorious for his starring role in Elvis.
