It's been a culture shock for Goldson adapting to his new life in Cyprus
Connor Goldson isn't finding his new life in Cyprus 'easy' - going from 50k Ibrox sellouts to playing in front of just 1,000 people.
That's according to his Aris Limassol manager Aleksey Shpilevsky who says it's been a culture shock for the defender. Goldson joined Aris Limassol in the summer after six years and 309 appearances for Rangers, and it's been a good start, helping his new side to three wins out of three to start the season. They beat Omonia Aradippou 3-0 away at the weekend despite playing for over an hour with ten men.
It wasn't so long ago that Goldson was running out AGAINST Aris at a sold out Ibrox in last season's Europa League. But his new surroundings are drastically different - just 1,000 fans were in attendance at their victory on Sunday. And his manager admits adjusting to the change has been a struggle for the 31-year-old.
Shpilevsky said: "It's not easy to play in an almost empty stadium. Connor Goldson was used to playing in front of 50,000 fans every other week when he was with Rangers. So it's not easy for him to adjust to this. But I am happy to get the win and I thank the people who did show up for their support."
