Prime Minister RishiSunak calls for power-sharing to be restored at Stormont as he addresses a Good Friday Agreement conference at QUBelfast

Rishi Sunak was joined by US and Irish dignitaries on the final day of the conference

His party has blocked the formation of an executive and the functioning of the assembly in protest against post-Brexit trading arrangements for Northern Ireland.Mr Sunak said the collapse of the institutions "will not bolster the cause of unionism" in the long-term. "I believe that deeply," he added.

Later, the prime minister will meet Stormont's political leaders and host a gala dinner at Hillsborough Castle.Among them were former US President Bill Clinton and Taoiseach Leo Varadkar.In his speech, Mr Clinton urged local politicians to get the Stormont "show on the road". Mr Varadkar reiterated the Irish government's agreement to work with the British government, as well as Stormont politicians, to make the process work across the islands.

Representatives of Northern Ireland's political parties, the Irish government, as well as EU and community representatives will also be there.
