Not an ideal start to the day.
Presenters Ben Shephard andkicked off today’s programme by explaining there was a last-minute scramble making sure the episode could go live.
‘We’re here by the skin of our teeth. We suffered a massive power cut at Good Morning Britain,’ Kate began. ‘It’s been all sorts of dramas. ‘They couldn’t use the printers so they couldn’t print off any briefs to brief us on the stories, they had no light…’Kate added that because the air conditioning went off, the show’s server also shut down, meaning there was a risk the programme wouldn’t be able to connect to their guests and couldn’t be aired at all.Luckily, the team managed to get things up and running on time. And so far, so good.
‘Genuinely, we were touch and go,’ Ben continued. ‘Just a big shout out to the team that got us on. To Daniel, because it really was touch and go.’
