Coronavirus Ireland good news: Measures having 'profound effect', graph shows progress and hope from elsewhere

Two weeks to the day that Taoiseach Leo Varadkar announced a full lockdown in Ireland, talks are now turning to when we can start phasing them out.

The growth rate in the disease has gone from 33% at the start of the outbreak to just 9%. However, it needs to fall to close to zero for mass public restrictions to be eased. New data showed each infected person now passes the bug to around one other. They put this prediction down to a 30% increase in cases per day which was the model being used across the world to predict data. And by this method the Irish Mirror graphed out that if intervention wasn't taken the country would have over 11,000 cases on April 1, 25,000 by April 5 and over 100,000 by April 10.

Should we have continued without any restrictions that exponential growth could have led to Ireland having over 72,000 cases.
