NHS Charities Together has asked people to show their appreciation by texting their donation line and giving £5
Announced this morning, NHS Charities Together – the union that represents NHS Charities funding our hospitals - launched the One Million Claps Campaign with a short film, voiced by David Walliams, featuring a version of We Will Rock You by Queen rewritten to say ‘NHS, we love you; We say, we say, thank you.’of £5 and a message of support.
‘Like everyone else, I’ve been incredibly moved by the millions of us showing our public support for our health service over the last two Thursday evenings,’ Ellie Orton, chief executive of NHS Charities Together, said. ‘I really hope One Million Claps inspires those who can to give a donation that will make a real difference to the amazing staff and volunteers who are daily saving lives and battling against this horribly virus on our behalf.
NHS Charities Together has 140 members - of the 250 NHS Charities across the UK – most of which help fund hospitals. ‘Collectively thesecharities give £1 million every day to the NHS so that people can stay well for longer and get better faster,’ reads the NHS Charities Together Website. ‘In recent years NHS charities have funded major capital projects, pioneering research and medical equipment at our hospitals, helping patients access the best possible care when they need it most.
The organisation also has a donation page on their website where you can choose to as much as you like.
