'Good Samaritans' stepped in to help after three Telford children became separated from their mother - when they got off a train but the doors closed before she could follow them onto the platform.

The family arrived at Telford Central Railway Station on Thursday evening, where the children got off the train but the doors closed before their mother could exit.

After explaining what had happened the man drove her back to Telford Central, but the three children, aged two, five and nine, were nowhere to be seen. Officers were deployed to the town centre to search for the children and taxi driver, and two Police Community Support Officers were sent to the family’s address in Madeley.
