Two sales are happening right now. In the U.S., Google has knocked $250 and $150 off the Pixel 8 Pro and Pixel 8 respectively. The Pixel 8a is $50 cheaper, while the Pixel Fold has been discounted by $500. The Pixel tablet has $70 off too. That sale ends today, July 24th.
There are even bigger savings for U.K. shoppers. The Pixel 8 Pro is down by £350 , while the base Pixel 8 is £250 cheaper when bought directly from Google's shop. The 8a has been discounted by £80 , while the Pixel Fold’s price has been knocked down by £550 . The Pixel Tablet is £100 cheaper.There are also enhanced trade-in prices, which adds an extra £170 on top of the standard valuation.
But in 2024 the company has planted itself directly between Samsung’s July Galaxy Unpacked event and Apple’s September event. Google will want its Pixel 9 Pro Fold to go head-to-head with Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 6, whilst stealing some orders from Apple before it announces the nest iPhone.For example, when purchasing the Fold 6 the company valued the Pixel 5 at $500, which is currently selling on eBay for well under $200. The Apple iPhone X, released in 2017, was valued at $550.
These trade-in prices were combined with the company’s double storage offer, 5% discount when bought with the app, and 12 months of Samsung Care +. I suspect Google will bundle together several similar deals. We’ve already seen rumors about a free subscription of Gemini Advanced when the Pixel 9 is bought, and the company is currently emailing out 5% off codes when new hardware is bought directly from the Google Store.
