A GOP lawmaker introduced legislation Wednesday that would put former President Donald Trump's portrait on the $500 bill.

This legislation requires the Secretary of the United States Treasury to print $500 Federal Reserve notes featuring a portrait of Mr. Trump. He also said that the absence of large-denomination currency issued by the Treasury urges Americans to depend on digital banking, “which faces greater vulnerability to surveillance and censorship.”
This is not the first time in recent years that the federal government wanted to put a new famous face on American money.
