The senior setter is an all-conference preseason selection for the second straight season.
Gophers senior setter Melani Shaffmaster was named to the preseason All-Big Ten team on Thursday. The U comes in at fifth in the conference in the preseason poll.
Also a preseason All-Big Ten selection last season, Shaffmaster ranks eighth in program history in assists and is one of only four Gophers with 3,000 assists and 1,000 digs in their career. She was a first team All-Big Ten selection in 2022.
