Gov. Ron DeSantis is set to speak with some of the state's top leaders in Jacksonville at a news conference on Monday.

Among the attendees was Florida Speaker of the House, Paul Renner, , who has made the bill one of his top legislative priorities. The house speaker enumerated some of the dangers of social media, such as its impact on their mental health. Renner also rebuked the argument that the bill might infringe on First Amendment rights. He said the bill doesn't wouldn't violate freedom of speech rights because it doesn't focus on the content of speech, but on the "addictive technology."
