California Gov. Gavin Newsom announced a bill Wednesday which would expand abortion access for Arizona residents following the state's Supreme Court decision to uphold a near-total abortion ban earlier this month. The bill would allow Arizona doctors to perform abortion services for Arizona residents within the state of California through the end of the calendar year.
Nancy Skinner, who authored the bill, said at a press conference Wednesday. 'Our Arizona sisters can come to California to get the health care that they need, from their own doctors who they rely on, and Arizona doctors can come to California without fear of spending two to five years in prison,' Skinner said Wednesday.
