Hochul’s office offered a statement saying the governor spoke with the family as they deal with unimaginable grief. “Governor Hochul attended the wake today to mourn the loss of Officer Diller, offer her condolences and hear from his family and loved ones who are dealing with unimaginable grief,” says Governor Hochul’s Office.The governor is facing pressure in the wake of Diller’s death.
He was shot by a man described by some as a career-criminal, during a traffic stop, furthering debate over the state's bail reform laws.Diller will be laid to rest Saturday.
