Oasis tickets were being sold for £355 after 'dynamic pricing' was enacted on some

The UK government has said vendors 'must be transparent' over ticket prices after Oasis fans voiced their anger about the chaos of the general sale - including some tickets being immediately resold for thousands of pounds - for the Manchester band's huge comeback gigs.

A spokesperson for Ticketmaster previously told the Manchester Evening News: "Ticketmaster does not set any ticket prices." They then referred to a page on their website explaining them. He told the M.E.N. that "opportunistic touts" and dynamic pricing had "priced out the true, loyal fans". Cris Miller, Viagogo global managing director, defended his website, saying “resale is legal in the UK and fans are always protected by our guarantee that they will receive their tickets in time for the event or their money back”.

The Advertising Standards Authority has since told the BBC that it could not pass comment on Ticketmaster's pricing structure.
