BREAKING: GP surgeries cancel winter flu jabs due to shortage of vaccines
GP surgeries in England are having to cancel winter flu jabs as one of the NHS’s biggest supplier can’t keep up with demand.
The firm said: ‘We would like to inform you that due to unforeseen road freight challenges there will be a delay to your scheduled delivery by one to two weeks.’ The letter from Seqirus added: ‘We realise that this unfortunate change could require you to reschedule planned influenza vaccination clinics and would like to reassure you that we are working hard to allow you to plan with certainty.
The exact scale of the disruption this could cause is still unclear, and it is not known if the delays are related to a shortage of lorry drivers.Supermarkets and other retailers are struggling to meet demand because thousands of European drivers have left the country.
