The former Leeds United boss has been linked with a return to the dugout
Former Leeds United boss Javi Gracia is among a number of familiar faces to Leeds United fans linked with the vacant managerial hot seat at La Liga club Sevilla. The Spanish side parted company with head coach Jose Luis Mendilibar after a disappointing start to the season.
Sevilla are currently 14th in La Liga, just two points above the relegation zone. It's been far from the start former Leeds United sporting director Victor Orta would have hoped for. The Spaniard was linked with a number of Whites players in the summer including Tyler Adams and Rodrigo, but neither would reunite with Orta. So, it perhaps unsurprising to Gracia linked with the vacant role, give Orta was the man who appointed him at Elland Road last season.Former Whites managerial target Andoni Iraola has also been linked with the job, but Estadio Deportivo say he won't make the move back to his native country unless he's sacked by Bournemouth.
Another name linked with the job is former River Plate boss Marcelo Gallardo, who is also believed to have turned down Leeds United under Orta's watch after the sacking of Jesse Marsch. He's set to remain unemployed. The report claims Gracia is among the early front runners for the job, having also been linked with the Almeria job in recent weeks. Sevilla are intent on getting the appointment right so they can kick on towards the top end of the division and look to qualify for Europe.
