The Ibrox legend has compared the national team's result to a dismal Rangers day from last season
Graeme Souness couldn't help but harp back to Rangers' 7-1 Champions League capitulation against Liverpool when watching Scotland fall 3-1 to England.
He believes Clarke's men never looked like they believed they could beat England, and with that came some flashbacks to when Jurgen Klopp's men ran over the top of Rangers at Europe's top table last season in devastating fashion. Souness wrote in his Daily Mail column: "I liken Scotland's performance against England to the one I saw at Ibrox last season when I went to see Rangers play Liverpool and watched them concede seven.
"Yes, England had better players in many positions but there have been many games in the history of football where that's been the case and the underdogs have won out because of their aggressive approach and never-say-die attitude. That was the disappointing part for me. Scotland never managed to engage the crowd in the fight, because they never gave them anything to shout about.
