A therapist who allegedly administered the IV drip to Rita Sauguniene, 63, was arrested on suspicion of her manslaughter.Her husband paid £400 for the course as a gift
The case is thought to be the first of its kind to be investigated by police and raises concerns about the trend of vitamin injections and drips.The treatment was made popular by celebrities such as Madonna, Rihanna and Rita Ora pumping their veins with vitamins and minerals.Lithuania-born Rita collapsed at her home in Forest Gate, East London, on June 27, having started to feel unwell soon after the IV infusion.
She lapsed into unconsciousness and was pronounced dead at the house, which was sealed off as a crime scene.
