Iris Jones, 83, married Mohamed Ibrahim, 37, in Egypt in 2020 after the couple met on Facebook, but she has now issued a warning over online dating.

An 83-year-old gran who tied the knot with an Egyptian toyboy has issued a stark warning about "scammers and con-artists" on dating platforms.

However, last year saw Iris declare that she and Mohamed had parted ways, as she replaced him with a cat. She called her ex "evil" and akin to a "sewer rat". Iris claimed that she had been paying Mohamed's debts and handing over substantial sums of money to him. Iris, who has recently become a self-proclaimed "competent scam hunter" after being targeted by four fraudsters in recent months, asserts that one particularly "evil" scammer attempted to swindle her out of a hefty sum.
