A grand stage is being set up for the Coronation Concert on May 7.
The East Terrace of Windsor Castle will host a live concert for the first time. It will be seen in over 100 countries and attended by 20,000 members of the public from across the UK.
As seen in new rendered images from producers BBC Studios Productions, the stage is set with the parapet wall steps in the middle. It also boasts multiple levels for the 70-piece orchestra and band, and the shape is based on the form of the Union Jack. “Four additional catwalks branch out of the flag geometry from the stage into the crowd to create more areas for performers and choreography,” BBC Studios said on Instagram. “The main stage sits in front of the orchestra with a direct backdrop of the world famous site.”The Coronation Concert will be hosted by Hugh Bonneville.
