The Grand National festival has extended its partnership with local chef Paul Askew, who will continue to provide his acclaimed food and drink offerings for the next three years. This prestigious event, recognized as the world's most famous race and the ultimate test for any racehorse, attracts 34 runners and riders vying for a place in British sporting history.
The 2025 Grand National Festival is scheduled to take place from Thursday, April 3rd, with Opening Day, followed by Ladies Day on Friday, April 4th, and Grand National Day on Saturday, April 5th. Paul Askew, the founder and chef patron of Liverpool's The Art School restaurant, initially signed a three-year deal with The Jockey Club in 2019. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the agreement was postponed until 2022. The partnership has since been fulfilled and renewed for an additional three years. Throughout the festival, racegoers have enjoyed a range of culinary delights, including six-course tasting menus, champagne afternoon tea, and dishes meticulously paired with wines to complement each race. Paul Askew has pledged to maintain the same high standards of ingredients and service that have become synonymous with his restaurant and the Grand National experience.'We are absolutely thrilled with our relationship with The Jockey Club and to announce that we're continuing our wonderful partnership with them for another three years,' said Paul Askew. 'Since 2022, we've proudly served the patrons of the world's greatest horse racing event in the magnificent Topham House setting. Quite simply, there's no other sporting event like The Grand National, and we're honored to be a part of their story. Showcasing some of the region's finest produce and exquisite global wines helps tell the wonderful story of Liverpool's food and drink ambition, creativity, and stature too, in a perfect pairing. I'm so proud of every member of staff who creates The Art School experience, and I also want to say huge thanks to our wonderful customers and their continued support for what we do at The Grand National with The Jockey Club. We can't wait to welcome you in April.' Dickon White, Aintree and North West regional director for The Jockey Club, echoed the sentiment, stating, 'We are delighted to continue our partnership with Paul Askew and The Art School for the next three years. The Randox Grand National is a world-class event, and the culinary experience provided by The Art School enhances the occasion for our guests in an extraordinary way. Paul and his team bring a level of excellence that reflects the prestige of this historic race. We look forward to welcoming racegoers back to Aintree and into The Art School this April.'
