Last year's Aintree hero has return to defend his crown as main aim but first he looks set to step up to Grade One company in the Betfair Chase at Haydock later this month
As he was paraded and worked on the gallops at Lucinda Russell's Arlary House Stables in Milnathort, Kinross on Tuesday morning Corach Rambler looked to not have a care in the world.
Trainer Russell, who also saddled One For Arthur to win the Grand National in 2017, said: "He has got this amazing ability to keep on galloping and he loved the Grand National fences. He is very neat at his jumping. He is nothing flash. He is honest and true and that is what he was like in the National. He is very straightforward and he definitely has a quirk to him and that is what makes him better than other horses. He need careful handling.
Russell added: "I am delighted . Obviously he has gone up in the handicap. And with less horses he won't be giving weight to too many horses at the bottom of the handicap. It should play- into his hands. I don't want to start too positive now as we are a long way away from the National. But I think it is definite going to be a good thing .
He said: "It is still unbelievable to think I have won two Grand Natonals. I look forward to riding in it again. I have always have enjoyed riding around the Aintree course over the big fences. But I have been lucky to ride some lovely jumpers around there. I have been lucky to have been on beautiful horses that jumped really well and suited the track."
