Grand National Ladies Day 2023 at Aintree in pictures
Racegoers have dressed up in their best outfits for Aintree's Ladies Day as the Grand National reaches its second day.
Despite the bad weather pouring down across the Liverpool racetrack, punters showed no signs of holding back with their glamorous outfits with many sporting high heels and vibrant dresses. While the annual event is renowned for its fancy style, The Jockey Club which runs the racecourse previously announced it would remove the dress code in a bid to make horseracing"accessible and inclusive".
The change was implemented across all 15 of its racecourses in February, including Aintree, with The Jockey Club chief executive Nevin Truesdale highlight that"racing really is for everyone". He added:“We hope that by no longer placing an expectation upon people of what they should and shouldn’t wear, we can help highlight that racing really is for everyone.”
