'Grandad Joe, I am sobbing'
Joe Deans has had more than 240,000 views on the video after he and his grandson turned a poem he wrote about his dying wish, into a song.
The song about Joe’s wish is titled Gerry’s Ferry, and details how Joe wishes for his ashes to be spread on the River Mersey from the Mersey Ferry, as he always loved walks on the River when he lived in Liverpool.. Daniel, who runs his own song writing workshops called Balloon Moon Community for people with disabilities who want to write songs, has set up a recording studio in the shed.
“I had to convince my grandad to sing on it. It took us about a day to record it and then after he listened to it, it choked him up, honestly. One said: "Grandad Joe, I won't lie I'm in tears". And another wrote: "Grandad Joe I am sobbing, this is lovely'.Since the huge success of Daniel’s TikTok, featuring Joe reacting to the recorded song, Joe stated that he has since been recognised while out and about in Southport.
