Detectives say her grandchildren found her dead Tuesday night after being concerned they hadn't heard from her.
Southern California authorities said what began as a welfare check turned into the discovery of a grisly crime scene for one family in South Pasadena .Officers with the South Pasadena Police Department responded to a call in the 800 block of Brent Avenue, near the intersection of Hope Street and Fair Oaks Ave., around 8:45 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4.Investigators said a woman in her 70s was found with stab wounds to her upper torso. She was declared dead at the scene.
At this stage of the investigation, no suspect information was available and there’s no theory as to what may have happened. Homicide detectives with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department are leading the investigation. SUGGESTED:Neighbors say the woman lived in the home for decades. "It's terrible, shocking,"said one neighbor. "She just waters her flowers, cleans her garden, and barely talks," said another neighbor.
