EXCLUSIVE: GrazianoDiPrima opens up on why he proposed to Giada Lini again
When Graziano Di Prima was introduced as the hunky new professional dancer on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing in 2018, we were instantly besotted. But unluckily for us, his well-packaged heart belongs to fiancée Giada Lini.
Giada expanded on their already very strong bond: “Nothing is going to change. We’ve shared every experience together so we are already married. We lived together for six months in one very small room during the Burn The Floor tour. We work together, eat together, live together and have the same friends so we know everything about each other.”
Rather than wallow, Graziano devised a plan to still make their original wedding date special and gathered his family together in Sicily. “I said, ‘Let’s all get together and celebrate, even though we’ve got to wait another year for the big day,’” Graziano explained of his decision. When the restrictions eased, the couple travelled from Sicily to Venice to visit Giada’s family. They both enjoyed spending quality time with their loved ones as they left their respective homes at young ages to pursue their dance careers. “I’m loving life,” said Graziano, who has enjoyed coffee in bed delivered by his adoring parents during lockdown.
On his first series he was paired with radio DJ Vick Hope, but last year he took more of a back-seat role and only performed in the professional group dances. But he did make headlines when he took part in a beautiful dance with fellow professional Johannes Radebe, in the show’s first same-sex routine.
While Graziano is excited to once again be dancing, there is one thing he isn’t looking forward to. “I’ve got to be honest with you – it’s the weather,” he told us as he sat on a sunny Sicilian beach, while OK! was stuck indoors as it rained outside. She continued, “When he is in Strictly I’m always there to help and support him. We try to always stay together.” Graziano added, “I cannot even think without her. She probably can, but I’m bad and not strong enough. I need her with me.”
